North Carolina recently dropped it’s statewide mask mandate and most schools had EOG’s last week. What’s a perfect way to celebrate? THE BEACH!!! We took a 3 day mini trip to Carolina Beach last weekend and I can say we would definitely go back. It’s full of things to do and the beaches were not very crowded.
If you know me, then you know that I absolutely love to travel. Anytime I can get an extra day off from work I’m somewhere at least 4 hours away. Carolina Beach is about 4.5 hours from where I live near Charlotte NC and is a small beachy community with an added boardwalk meant to entice travelers, the parks nearby are also so gorgeous and neighboring beach town of Kure beach has an aquarium and ferry.

We stayed in a beachfront condo just off the main strip. Many restaurants were still walkable distance. Here are the ones we visited:
Pop’s Diner- 109 N Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC- step back in time with 1950’s theme. Food was good, We got mostly appetizers since it was lunch but the BIG pretzel was so good. Friendly waitstaff.
Michael’s Seafood- Nice Aesthetic however the food was not the greatest. Not alot to choose from and just okay service. I had blackened Salmon with pasta, my pasta was cold apparently it was suppose to be cold pasta salad, but if they could put that on the menu I’m sure it would fix some confusion. My sons said the muscles and crab cakes were good though.
Buzz’z Roost – Easygoing stop for seafood & tacos with full bar amid shabby beach decor with outdoor seating. This one is right on the board walk and we did dinner here, it was good. I had the tacos and they were perfectly spicy. Great chill place to eat and people watch.
Krazy Kones was for desert that day on the boardwalk! They had softserve and lots of candies. My kids got cotton candy and strawberry cones- I included their photos because they asked me too because it “was so good”
That’s all we ate! But we played ALOT! Carolina Beach has bike, surf board and chair rentals available at Paradise Island Rentals and it has an arcade on the boardwalk at 103 Carolina Beach Ave N. Don’t forget to play at the beach too!!! Carolina Beach state park is beautiful, I full recommend a hike through it!
Let me know, if you have been to Carolina Beach! Where did you eat and what did you do? Leave a comment! Until my next trip!
Love and Light!
